The NSA, Security, Boundaries and Neoscience

By Marlin Knecht

It is not a surprising revelation that the NSA has developed strategies to thwart encryption codes. But the fact that the articles across the NYT, The Guardian, and Propublica point to the fact that the government likely has agents in internet, security and encryption companies - in Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, Facebook with the intent of placing "backdoors" in proprietary encryption systems is more than disturbing.

It speaks to the lack of check and balance systems in place, and the invasiveness of these systems. It's fair to assume that almost nothing published is private, including personal facts, company proprietary data, and nation-states secrets this has huge ramifications for intellectual property law, the exploitation of trade secrets and national security in unexpected ways. There are almost endless examples of how such a system could be abused and history is replete with examples where even lesser knowledge has been abused in the past. We stand in a world that in the last 3 decades has seen numerous instances of genocide simply because of someones race or ethnic background. The obvious problem is that even identity can be condemning in these situations which clearly fly's in the face of existential rights.

This said, to me the problem is not specifically the lack of privacy, it is the people that have access to the information and what they can and probably will do with it. The fact that this information was published across three publications, with preemptive explanation is a statement in itself. This said, information is available in the collective consciousness of humanity. The real issue is a lack of check and balance, due process and protection for individual and species wide rights. But discerning this issue is a challenge, so I am taking a few minutes to try and put it in context and where the real issues and dangers lie.

We Already Have Access to Almost all Information ...

I have known and experienced as have many other people, that information is not limited to the boundaries of the silicon chip, or protected databases, or encrypted communications rather information is available to those that have access to universal mind and the collective unconscious as Carl Jung used to call it.

At this level of consciousness information is not limited by space-time and in fact is predicated on an understanding that space-time itself is a function of consciousness not the other way around. This is a new scientific point of view or neoscientific viewpoint. A number of theoretical physicists have come to this conclusion, the first that comes to mind is the Nobel Prize winning Erwin Schrodinger, of schrodinger's cat fame, where he outlined this idea in his little book “What is Life? Mind and Matter” that mind is not limited to brain.

The Boundaries to Universal Access are Human Made

In fact one of the largest barriers people have to experiencing the reality of universal mind is the pride – embarrassment duality or the many activities we do to develop a false self or build the ego. The reality is, to access universal mind one has to have worked through a number of issues to get there in consciousness even using advanced spiritual or neoscientific practices. And I need to say the appropriate use of these practices is about drawing nigh unto God as opposed to achieving access – as Lao Tzu put it in the Tao Te Ching, “He who grasps misses.” (chapter 64) For those that have flattened their consciousness to the point where access is available most of the time, this is a day to day experience and walk. The Bible talks about Moses who walked an talked with God regularly - "Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth." (NIV Numbers 12:3).

As people self-evolve and grow they gain deeper access to themselves and finally non-spatial-temporal information. Why do I bring this up? Because we live in a world where at some levels almost all can be seen. Hebrews talks about the “great cloud of witnesses” in chapter 12. On another level however people are pushed and pulled by the very intents and issues that take them out of, and block them from the natural and restful state required to live in this place. In fact most of contemporary trade and commerce is often conducted on what someone doesn't know about the cost of something, access to something, how to do something in terms of inventions and technology.

This activity is the anvil upon which people learn and work out the issues of their soul, which if the truth be known is the real reason most of us are here.

Access is Predicated on Intent and State of Being

Here is where the line gets interesting and I think there is an almost too obvious natural example to explain what we should do with privacy and access. For those that live in a place where they are working through issues, boundaries are more than appropriate so access is not abused. In fact from a natural development standpoint people that are working through issues don't generally have access to that level of consciousness and are so isolated from it, so entwined, so indelibly inurred in it that they scarcely believe it exists. A scene from the movie the Matrix alludes to this.

Imagine if someone could gain money, wealth and power by knowing a future stock price through access to universal mind. The reality is this access would be hard if not impossible to gain with those intents because they are far too invested in the spatial-temporal world and the belief that the spatial-temporal world is the whole of reality. In relationship to this Propublica uses a very similar example presented as science fiction in why they published what they did (read it here).

In other words a more conscious person would not hold those intents in their heart, they don't view the world the same way and those individuals would not violate boundaries to gain control, access or power because they have long sense learned that these acquisitions and attachments are soul binding - not soul freeing and provide only illusory gratifications.

The Necessity of Check and Balance Systems

For those that would abuse the privilege of access: check and balance systems, due process and systems of transparency need to be in place. At this level the level of awareness and connectedness is predicated on the degree to which an individual self-selects their state of isolation or connectedness. Working out of that state requires deep inter-personal work and self-intimacy; when people begin to experience access as a natural consequence of their state of being then check and balance systems can and do drop away, they get a little more of a view behind the veil. Until then it is a much safer world for the individual, the organization and the nation-state to have check and balance systems in place.

A New Set of Check and Balance Systems is Called For

A new set of check and balance systems are required to ensure an environment on a global scale where individuals enjoy the freedoms and liberties to learn, grow and achieve a deeper level where they no longer need this system. Environments of fear, totalitarianism control and ubiquitous monitoring without due process and public awareness are extremely destructive to the creative process and the spatial temporal mechanisms that allow many of us on the journey to realize a higher level of being, one where those systems are no longer required.
